Table Names

I was talking to my sister this morning about the escort cards and table names and I decided that I'd do something very unique to FI and I for the table names. For now, i'm going to keep it a secret. But if you know how to get to my planning site, you can see them there (link in siggy on theknot.com). I'm very excited about making these and everyone seeing them! Hobby Lobby even has their pape ron sale this week, so I'm probably going to head down Friday to grab more of my brown & ivory paper to make the table name cards as well as get more blue & purple paper for the programs. I took pictures last night to add to the post below, but I never added them; I'll try my best to add them tonight :)

Serving Set

Wow...I'm relieved to be finished with these! It wasn't that bad to string all the beads on the fishing wire, but it was a pain trying to get them on the serving set. Nonetheless, I completed the knife today and can wash and throw these things in a box and forget about them until May 22. Now I'll be working on tissue paper flowers to finish up the 8 pomanders I have to make! :)
EDIT: I forgot to mention, in case anyone was wondering) that the server set was bought from Ross (I think) by my mother who came across it one day and picked it up for me!

Missing In Wedding Action

Hi everyone! I am very apologetic that I have been missing around here! We had our church revival all last week and it was late every night when I got in. I woke up last Friday morning with sinus issues and have been down and out with that until my meds really started working yesterday. I have made a pretty good little bit of progress along the lines of wedding planning progress, and we also have TONS of action along the lines of house progress. FI and his dad have really been working on the house the last couple of weeks. We did find an issue in the one room of the house we had planned to remodel after we moved in so we are now remodeling every room/aspect of the house. I'm very excited for everything to be finished so I can show you before and after pictures!

On the wedding front:
~ I finally paid of my wedding bands (first post about them can be found
here)! Good pictures to come when I can get a good picture of them.

~ I completed the printing on the back of the majority of our RSVP postcards (I'm waiting on a second batch of 100 to arrive from Vistaprint).

~ The brown paper that Hobby Lobby had to special order for me came in and I finished cutting all of those earlier this week. I get the rest of the invites assembled.
~ My sister and I found the coolest decorating idea for the fellowship hall windows! I'm anxious for the tulle I ordered from
CODWholesale to arrive so we can experiment with these!!! We plan to use fishing wire to hang 4-6 individual tulle poofs at varying lengths from the tulle covered curtain rods.

~ We also nailed down how we're going to decorate the pews at the ceremony!

The Sanctuary we're getting married in looks almost IDENTICAL to the one in the above picture. I love the lights in the tulle and will probably go with that look!

On the house front:

Since we're having to fix the bathroom now as well (this was unintended; we planned to wait and build on to the back of the house where the bathroom is when we started a family, but we found a few things and decided it was best to go ahead and tackle this project now as well). I made a quick little layout of the the house for it's before and after layout:

Photoshare Cards & Mad Libs

So, many weeks ago I received my Mad Lib cards as well as the Photoshare cards that I ordered from VistaPrint. They turned out just as I had imagined they would, PERFECT! :) I've had these for weeks and still haven't managed to take pictures of them so I found them this morning in my wedding planning bag and decided to snap a few camera phone photos of them.

Design: Photoshare Cards & Mad Lib

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've blogged, so here I am to blog! I haven't checked anything big off the wedding to-do list since the dress purchase. I have, however, been designing some stationary stuff. First off, I have the front design of our photo share cards. I created it using scrapblog.com and it was super easy.

I have also been working on a cool idea I got from some girls on theknot.com, Mad Libs for our guests to fill out at the reception! I designed the front of the card on scrapblog.com and I took the wording from a mad lib off Cheyenne Schultz's website and tweaked it a little. I LOVE this and I hope that it's a hit with our guests!

Embossed Napkins

I thought I seen someone post on the DIY board on the knot about embossing napkins. I found napkins at Wal-Mart this evening for $.75 per pack (got 300 for $12). I wanted to see if embossing them would work as I'm still skeptical about using the permanent ink on them. Here's what the clear ink and clear powder looks like on the blue napkins:

And here's the clear ink and bridal tinsel powder:

I LOVE the clear powder on the napkins! I'm going to get a monogram stamp to use on the napkins. I can't WAIT to get it ordered and get started. Should take a while with 300 napkins!

DIY Centerpiece Idea

Hola amigos! I stopped by the Dollar Tree on my home from lunch with mi madre today and picked up some glass containers. I love the idea of the cylinder vases with floating candles so I bought one of them, a short square vase, and a small hurrican vase. I put the three together with a flaoting candle, some hydrangeas (used face ones here but will use real at the reception), and another candle (used a tea light here but will use a votive at the reception). I'm so excited to share the end result that will cover half of the tables at the reception! I'll work on completeing a trial run with the tall CP's soon!

Big Lots!

I had to go out this morning to get my hair cut so I decided to have lunch with my mother afterwards. On my way home I stopped by Big Lots (since my granny was working) and decided to get the fifth centerpiece vase (see previous post) and two floating candle bowls that matched them. My granny bought them for me, with her discount, so I got them for $8 a piece instead of $10! Woot woot for six dollar savings! Below is a picture of the floating candle bowl...I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them just yet...but I'm sure I can find somewhere to put them at the reception!

Spring Break!

Spring break was this week and I decided to a little wedding shopping to fill my Friday off. I've been eyeing these vases at Big Lots for a month or so now and I decided that I would go ahead get them. I had only budgeted for 4 since that's all I thought they had, but I got in there and they had 5. I stuck with only the 4 for this trip but decided I'll look for the fifth one next time I'm in there. These vases are anniversary vases from Hallmark that were priced at $35/each but I got them for a steal at $10/each!

There was also a grand opening in our town for a store called Carolina Pottery. I decided to check them out since I had never heard of them and I found our toasting flutes in there. I got these at what I think was a steal for $1.49/each. I love the stems!

Ceremony & Reception Venue booked!

So, today I went and looked over the church and reception area that we were conemplating using for our May 22, 2010 wedding. We talked about and asked our questions and we booked it! Now it is officially official and we can start telling people our date! We just have to get a final price on the ceremony location (reception veue is only $50 :) YAY!) and then get that paid for!

Next big step, photographer!
