DIY Centerpiece Idea

Hola amigos! I stopped by the Dollar Tree on my home from lunch with mi madre today and picked up some glass containers. I love the idea of the cylinder vases with floating candles so I bought one of them, a short square vase, and a small hurrican vase. I put the three together with a flaoting candle, some hydrangeas (used face ones here but will use real at the reception), and another candle (used a tea light here but will use a votive at the reception). I'm so excited to share the end result that will cover half of the tables at the reception! I'll work on completeing a trial run with the tall CP's soon!

Tissue Paper Single Stem Flowers

Hey everyone! My friend at work had the bright idea of putting the tissue paper flowers on stems to use in a vase. So, I did just that and she is going to use these for her future DIL's bridal shower on Saturday. I'm so excited for her idea and will more than likely use this idea for our wedding. Her wedding colors are hot pink and green, but my co-worker only wanted pink flowers. Here's how to do it:

1) Make your tissue paper flowers following the instructions listed here.

2) Once you have made several flowers (I made about fifteen or so to start with but this number will be different for everyone depending on how many single flowers you want), gather the following items:
* floral stems
* floral tape
* your tissue paper flowers

3) Take your flowers with the floral wire laying against the floral stem and use the floral tape to attach the flower to the stem.

4) Once you get your floral tape started and your floral wire is covered you can continue to wrap the rest of stem if you choose (I did because I thought the floral tape looked more realistic) or just leave the rest of the stem as is.

5) When you get to the bottom of the stem tear your tape about 1-2 cm's from the end of the stem. Wrap the floral tape up around the bottom of the stem to cover the bottom.

6) Wa-La! You're finished. Continue the process until you have all the flowers you wish for! :)

DIY Envelope Liners

Tonight (when I should have been doing my Cost Accounting h/w) I decided to try out some envelope liners on the samples I ordered from Cards & Pockets. I'm so excited about getting started on these once the invites get here (ordered May 19)! Of course I have photos!

Save-The-Dates

I ordered the standard and oversized postcards from Vistaprint and only paid shipping each time. We decided to go with the standard postcards to mail out for our official save-the-dates. Below is the screen print as well as a picture of the actual postcards that I took today.

I can't explain how wonderful a day this was...so I'm simply going to give you some of my favorite pictures!

Bored @ Work

So, I'm sitting here at work having a normal S-L-O-W Monday. I just want to go home and wrap up in some warm blankets and make some tissue paper flowers or something. But since i'm stuck here for now, I made a paper flower which really turned out pretty cool (minus the quality of the picture that was taken on my phone in my lamp lit office). These are cute, but I'm not sure it's anything that could be used for a wedding...

The flower is made out of five individually made petals and is actually pretty neat. I might use some pretty paper when I get home tonight and make some more of these to see what they look like. I'll definitely add pictures if I make some out of pretty paper tonight :)

UPDATE: Here are some of the paper flowers that are made from the pretty paper:

Special Coasters

Hey everyone! From the post below, I had to show my coasters off at work yesterday! Two of the women I work with decided they wanted some made (one for their mother for Mother's day and one for her future daughter-in-law for a bridal shower). Here is the one that I made for the bridal shower (I've only made one because she only had one picture she wanted me to turn into a coaster so far).

I'm also working on some for the women that wanted pictures of her nieces/nephews/son for her Mother for Mother's day but they aren't complete yet. I'll add those once I get the waterproof sealer on them tomorrow :) I love how easy and cute these are and I very well intend on making these as gifts for all of my friends/family sometime this year.

DIY - Coasters

Hi everyone! :)

I actually got to do something semi-wedding related this evening after work! I decided
to try my hand at making these! I LOVED it :) I didn't make these particular ones for the wedding, just grabbed some scrapbook paper to try these out! I'm not sure right now if I'll make these for the wedding...but we'll see. If I don't use them for the wedding, they are perfect to make as gifts! Check 'em out!
